while i was out searching for a job yesterday, i decided to walk to "the biggest pet store in dunedin" to see if they had any available positions. this seemed especially appealing since the store also had a veterinarian clinic in it and i decided it would be worth the walk. an hr later.... i finally reached the store, however, it wasn't as big as i had envisioned...still pretty cool though. it had a big aviary and a decent selection of animals. no positions open though. oh well. i had to try.
since i had already walked to the north part of the city, i knew that baldwin street--the world's steepest street--was not too far away and figured i might as well walk the extra 15 minutes more to see it. who knows if i would get back up this way again. the street is in a very residential area, so not really that much around. the whole neighborhood was full of steep streets like this, one after another all in a line, but baldwin street was clearly, the steepest. i decided that it would be shameful to have come all this way, and not climb to the top. they have built steps along the side of the street however (where the sidewalk would be) so climbing up the side wasn't quite as hard as walking up the center of the street. so, despite another disappointing job-search day, i at least had a little fun climbing the steepest street in the world.

pretty cool...
Wouldn't you just love to ride a bike or skateboard down that street....I thought San Francisco had some very steep streets but I guess they've got those beat.
Keep trekking along...you'll find something.
