We woke up this morning, our first full day of Uruguay to cloudy skies and the sound of rain. The temperature had dropped significantly so our plan to escape to the campsite flew out of the window along with the sunshine! We really did want to camp tonight, but it is very cold...we'll do it another day!
Anyway, we shared our dorm with a French couple who didn't speak English so we had a decent nights quiet sleep! We had planned on spending the whole day visiting the Old City in Colonia, but within a few seconds of standing and admiring the first drawbridge- the mosquitos made a bee line for us- I have a nice juicy one on my cheek and Jamie's head is covered! Planning ahead we had bought spray but applied a few minutes too late.
So our long ambling walk around the citadel turned into- quick, take a picture, then run! So we finished it within half an hour!
Thus, we have spent the day chilling out- had a long siesta, and making repairs to several items that did not last the plane journey!
Having dinner now- sausage pasta, again! Have booked our bus tickets out of here to the capital Montevideo for tomorrow.
Our Spanish is returning to us slowly, havent had to make funny signs or draw any silly pictures yet today!
