Hey hey!
Getting the hang of this travel blog business now....So Kerala! Well, Jack and Karl were supposed to join us on our 20hour train journey from Goa but came down with the dreaded Delhi Belly instead, so we went to the Capital Trivindrum, where we were both oh so very ill for a good few days, stuck in our hotel room ordering room service and losing weight. By the time we got better the boys were in Varkela, a gorgeous resort on cliff tops which you could very easily fall over. varkela

Very bright very colourful and lots of fun, the 'Goa of Kerala' apparently and we loved it. We stayed at Jickys and shared a balcony, On our terrace

and Kristy and Becky turned up.We had many a drinking session one involving breaking some hotel hammocks. we spent some time on the tiny tiny beaches where the lifeguards whistle at you all day long for no apparent reason, watched some local dancing and generally relaxed once more. in the hammock

Then we all (apart from Karl who was ill again) went to Alleppy and hired a houseboat to sail around Kerala backwaters, and it was awesome. We stopped for a swim (although i was scared of potential anacondas so stayed on board), we got waited on all day and Darren cooked us some dinner in the evening. The boat was so lovely and spacious it was a fabulous way to spend time. Our houseboat

Getting back to Tribundrum was a MISSION, we had too many trains to catch after too little sleep. We ended up separated from our bags (luckily our friends had them) after Darren went on a pasty hunt minutes before the train arrived and we all got on the train, but then it started moving so i had to get off or he would have been left all on his tod. It worked out fine in the end, we all met in trivindrum a few hours later than expected and went down to Kovalam beach, known as the best beach in the country, where we spent a couple of days and ate some tasty local fish. fruit lady

We had to leave at 4am to catch our flight, knowing it will be a few months until we see sand and sea once more.

Finally you have pictures
Finally you have been able to see some pictures. Not sure if mum has had a chance to look at them yet. Don't forget to keep updating them where ever you go as I want to see what you are up to.

Miss you

Amy
