Where I stayed
Had a great time watching the crowds at watching the Astronomical Clock strike at noon. The clock basically at noon has this skeleton pull this string and two doors open up and figures twirl around in a circle. Wow (insert sarcasm). It was fun watching the crowds eat it up and snap videos and pictures like mad.
I walked over to Charles Bridge again as the view looking over towards the castle is breathtaking
It was nice to stroll without a purpose and soak up as much of the atmosphere as I can. I saw a sad site of a huge group of Scottish guys wearing kilts and being as loud and obnoxious as one could be. They offered a midget (what are the odds?) money if the midget would pull down his pants. The midget did and the guys of course laughed, made a big scene and then told him they were just kidding about the money. People like that should just stay home.
Went back to the hostel and met up with Michael and we went for dinner at this pub/karate place. There was a big viewing area so you could drink and watch people have their karate lessons at the same time. It was nice that he spoke fluent German as alot of Czechs don't know English, but know German. The area that the hostel is in is away from the tourist sites, so restaurants here don't have English speaking menus, or people for that matter.
Went to the train station to catch my night train to Krakow. I was placed in a 3 person sleeper with a very elderly Polish couple. My bunk was on top and it was like a coffin. I couldn't raise my arm from a lying position without hitting the ceiling. When I hopped down to go to the washroom, the old guy was laying there in his tiny little underwear on top of his covers. They were very nice, but we couldn't understand each other. I was surprised that I was able to get enough sleep to last me through the next day.
