We are back in Turkey again today where we visited Ephesus. This was another site that we were both very excited about and chose this cruise because it stopped here for a long day. We had a wonderful morning with a private guide walking around Ephesus. It is amazing site and so well preserved. There must be a particular mention of the terrace houses which have only been excavated in the last ten years and they are housed in a separate display area. The frescos were spectacular in the houses and the mosaic floors were so intricate. It was fantastic to see. Also the celsius library was beautiful as expected and the grand theatre was very impressive. As we were leaving though, the people! There was just a sea of people in the walkways behind us, I don't think I have seen so many tourists at any site yet! We also visited the temple of Artemis, however there is only one pillar remaining of it so not very impressive. We had a fantastic guide today, he was so knowledgeable about everything. He made it a really great experience.
Back in kusadasi, we had a yummy lunch of pide and efes beer, very cheap and did a bit of shopping.
