Though our hotel's grimy, lipstick-marked walls left something to be desired, we did enjoy the little bit of time we spent walking around Johor Bahru, on the far southeastern corner of peninsular Malaysia.
We took the train there from Kuala Lumpur starting early Monday morning, and we arrived about 2.30 in the afternoon. There's a nice walkway along the water separating JB from Singapore, and we also climbed up the hill in town, enjoying little streets and alley-way life along the way. Just one afternoon in this town was a nice amount, better than we had been led to believe it would be by our guidebooks. More thumbnails ...
