Luglio ti Roma

All the way from San Francisco, my 16 year old son & I finally reached Fiumicino Airport the following day July 06, 08. We took the Leonard express train 11euros each. It was a nice ride except for the part where you have to lift your heavy luggages up the steps.
Our stop was the termini. It was a busy terminal if you ask me but then again, I've never been to a big train station in the States like NY. The hotel was a few blocks away and it was still too early to check in but I was glad that we were there. My first time in Rome! As soon as we got in the room, freshened up and wanted to know if our travel friends made it to their hotel which was a few blocks away also. As soon as I got down to the lobby, the Quintanas, Alex, Jocelyn & their 17 yr. old son was at the desk inquiring about us.
I screamed in excitement, now we can walk outside and have our first dinner in Rome! After dinnner, it was still bright and decided to walk a small section of the city. We even passed by the block where the Colosseum was. Most of the stores were closed on the main street but I believe this was my first taste of gelatto!
