Basically, Uruguay was the only other beach time I had other than burning the first three layers of my skin way back in Peru. The beach in Colonia del Sacramento is actually a river - the widest one in the world. It has a tide! Bizzare. I couldn't really figure that one out. I was also very disappointed that the water was FAR too icy for me to put more than my toe in. But the beautiful white sand beach was greatly appreciated by my person as I lay on it for hours on end. I spent a week there (far too long for how small it was) before heading back to Buenos Aires, a quick two hour ferry ride away.
