"Why are you going to Singapore?!" The customs agent in San Francisco looked at me with such disgust I immediately felt guilty...ashamed...wrong somehow...? Something. "To travel and experience a different culture." "Alone?!" "Yes." He gave me one of those uber serious custom agent type looks meant to intimidate and I wanted to ask him if he'd ever bothered leaving his stall let alone the country. But I just smiled, batted my eyelashes and he violently stamped my passport.

Customs agents are worse than the Queen's Guard in England. They drive me crazy with their insistance on having no sense of humour and being complete jerks 90% of the time.

Currently, I'm in Singapore (yes Granny, all roads DO lead to Singapore!) after having made a quick stop over in Seoul to drop off some passengers. I had been awake for 20 hours, forcing myself not to sleep for as long as possible. This last 6 hr leg of the flight (Seoul - Singapore) had me sleeping the entire way there. I vaguely remember them feeding people but I was too busy drooling to notice.

I now have a 6 hr wait in this airport until my flight to Bangkok in the morning. If you're getting this email notification and wish to be removed from this "mailing list" of sorts, please do tell me and I'll do that as soon as I'm able. Otherwise, welcome to my adventure!

good to hear it
You're off on a great adventure, and grumpy customs guy is stuck behind the desk.

Have fun!
