The weekend of June 7th-9th, it was off to Poland.  We went to Krakow for a couple of days.  Krakow is one of the largest and oldest cities in Poland with a nice old town square also known as the Main Market Square.  The Vistula river runs through it, which is nice.  Krakow has an "old" feel to it, kind of like Prague, but doesn't quite have the architecture and beauty that Prague has.  (I may be a little biased seeing as I live in Prague).

We stayed at a Holiday Inn very close to the Main Market Square, which was nice.  Driving to Krakow was interesting as the roads in Poland are not in great shape, but at least we didn't get lost this time around.   The Euro-Cup Football (soccer) championships started while we were here, so we spent quite a bit of time watching that.  Poland played Germany on Sunday evening so everyone was out in the town square with their Poland flags and gear on.  Unfortunately their team didn't give them much to cheer about as they lost 2-0 to their rivals Germany.

Besides watching soccer we didn't do too much else except walk around and eat.  We ate authentic Polish pierogis , sausage and stuffed cabbage.  All of which were very good.  We also learned a few things about Krakow while we were there.  It is where Schindler's List was filmed.  The pubs don't serve food and Krakow has taken over Prague as the capital of the "stag party", which is fine with me.
