The second day of Jerry and Maria's stay was St. Patrick's Day.  We spent the first part of the day touring the city.  We went to the castle where we saw St. Vitus Cathedral and walked around.  There are some great views of the city from the castle.  After that, we walked around and did some "window shopping."

At around 3:00 pm we hit the bar.  Since we weren't working it was our responsibility to get a table at our favorite Irish bar, Molly Malone's.  We were successful in getting a table and then we had some time to kill until everyone arrived.  The three of us (Jerry, Maria and myself) hung out at Molly's all afternoon.  There was a one-man band singing that kept us entertained.  Joe and his work buddies arrived a few hours later and we all had a great time.  At this point there was an Irish band playing.  There was an Irish girl dying people's hair green.  Joe's buddy, Dennis was a not-so-willing participant but ended up with green hair anyway.  Dennis is actually from Ireland so it was fun hanging out with him on St. Patty's day.  We ended up leaving around 11:30, which means Jerry, Maria and I sat in the bar for over 7 hours.

The next couple of days in Prague were spent doing "tower climbs."   The first climb was the astronomical clock in Old Town Square.  We were enjoying the view of the Tyn church, on a nice sunny day, when out of nowhere a big snow flurry arrived.  There were huge snowflakes coming down like crazy.  It was actually quite beautiful.  The snow lasted about 15-20 minutes and then it was gone.  We did get some nice pictures of the Tyn church and other building with the snow.

The second climb was up the Charles Bridge Tower.  There were some nice views overlooking the bridge and the Prague Castle.

We spent the rest of the afternoon eating, shopping and going to my favorite cafe, Cafe Ebel.

The next day we did the crazy day trip to Berlin, which is documented on the next entry.  The following day, which was their last full day in Prague, we did one more climb.  This time it was up the "Eiffel Tower" look-a-like, the Petrin Observation Tower.  We took the easy way up to the tower by taking the inclinator up the hill.  The climb up the tower was pretty steep, but worth the climb.  There were great views of the castle and of the Vtalva River with all its bridges.

Jerry and Maria finished out their stay in Prague by doing some shopping.  I really enjoyed having them around and hanging out with them.  Even though their stay was short, they got to see a lot and had a very productive few days.
