The longer I've been here, the more I am enjoying the city. The architecture here is unbelievable. Unlike most European cities, Prague was spared during both world wars. There is a very "old" feel to the city with the narrow, cobble stone streets and the buildings from the 13th and 14th centuries
I am really enjoying the restaurants here in Prague. Although I'm not crazy about the typical Czech cuisine of goulash and cooked game, I do like most of the restaurants here. One dish that I didn't think I'd like, but I do, is beef tar tare. This is uncooked beef with a raw egg on top. It's delicious. There's a restaurant here that we really like, called La Cantina. It's a Mexican restaurant, or "Czexican" as we like to call it. But, it is really good and gives us a little piece of home. The beer here is really cheap. In fact, it is cheaper than water. This (along with the abundance of strip bars) attracts "stag" parties or bachelor parties. These parties usually involve rambunctious men (usually from Britain) that like to go around singing weird songs wherever they go. It is quite annoying.
With its central location in Europe, Prague makes for a great home base for traveling. We hope to travel as much as possible over the next two years. I know I'm excited for this adventure of a life time.
