I made our drive back to France very enjoyable. After pulling an all nighter with Chris, Uta and Ash I couldn't be bothered to put any actual clothes on so I hopped on the coach in my blue pajamas. A surprise to me, we were stopping in a main city called Arles and had to wander about in pajamas! That day was also when Chitty showed his true colours. Out of no where, he says to me "you look ridiculous" From that day forward, he was allowed to insult my clothing, as long as I insulted how DIRTY his clothes were. Aside from that, the little town was relaly cute; known for the bull ring as well as the Roman Amphitheatre which now just stands as ruins. We had some lunch at what seemed like a good clean cut restaurant, but instead when you visited the toilettes it was an entirely different atmosphere. The toillete itself, the sink, and the hand drive was standard, but the soap dispenser was where it got special. There was some sort of yellow/green stick poking out of the wall which I didnt exactly know what it was. I touched it with the tip of my finger cautiously onto have it slip off. Then I put both hand on it, stroked it up and down a few times and realized it was SOAP! After that fiasco we headed back to the coach and to continue on our way to Antibes.
We got there around 7pm, had our dinner then Rosanna, myself, Charlie and Ash all went for a run towards the pebbled beach. I personally wanted to go just with Rosanna b/c I find that if theres too many people involved it just gets difficult; and so it did. Charlie wanted to sprint, so the 3 of them did and I just kept at my own pace. I was quite impressed with myself. In the end we ran for a good 40 mnutes. We saw some of our fellow travellers in the water, so I took of my top and joined in wearing just my shorts and bra. Very much apart of the French Riviera style. The beach itself was qutie interesting as well. No sand, no dust, only pebbles, big rocks just about; made is fun to run on although it was getting to my knees after a bit.
The next day we left early to go the Perfume Fragonard. That place was cool. We got to see how perfume and soap is made and by the end of it all I spent 17 Euros on a small bottle of all natural perfume called Diamonds=) LOVE IT!
We returned to the city center and spent 4 hours wandering throughout the market and then some shops, which finally brought us to another pebbled beach. The French market really made me feel like I was in Italy. Everything that was being sold was antique; exactly what we at home try to get rid of. Everything that people sell at garage sales and what we think looks really old, they buy and not for cheap I might add. anyway, left Nice, went back to the campsite for dress-up and dinner then headed out to Monaco to see the Monte-Carlo Casino and the famous Monte-Carlo Formula 1 Race Track. Everyone, absolutely every person was either in a Rolls Royce, Porsche, Ferrari, Mercedes and any other top notch car you can think of. The casino was just a regular casino (cannot compare to Vegas at all) but the outside was just unbelievable. I played a bit of roulette and while Peter was standing beside me I was winning, as soon as he left I lost two rounds only to try and end the night on a good note. Unfortunately I was determined to win my money back and went on to play on a Blackjack Game which didnt go so well for me. After the casino, we took photos on the hair-pin of the race track, then headed back to the campsite for a couple drinks and called it a night.
The next morning we left early for Verona, then to Venice, followed by Florence.
