Arriving in Chile we immediatly headed for the smallest coastal town we could find to spend a few days on our own before going to the farm. On our first night in Buchupureo a Chilean couple joined us and after talking for a bit they asked if we would like to travel with them for a few days since we were going in the same direction. We were a bit unsure about this proposition, what if they liked freshly stewed South Africans for dinner? But they seemed friendly enough and the next morning we decided to join them.
It was one the best decisions we have ever made. They were so great, for a few days we travelled with Fifi and Patty and then they took us to their home in Concepcion, where they really made us feel part of the family. We went bowling with Patty´s son and uncle and we even made them some South African food. They are agreat crazy family and every one tried their best to make us feel welcome, eventhough the Chilean Spanish and our basic Spanish created some funny and frustrating moments.
After 7 months on the road we loved being part of a familiy, if even just for a few days. More thumbnails ...
