After waiting for an hour and a half for our bus to leave, which was meant to be at 7am, we eventually have to jump off one bus and on to another as it had broken down. It was 8:30.... (the bus had a flat tire, and a broken engine, but that didnt mean we had to get off the bus... oh no we just sat there while they lifted it up and fixed it, crazy days indeed) The new bus was a little colloectivo which we had to put our bags on the roof of. not much space but we managed.
me and kari managed to get the front seats for this journey, which was a good thing for me as I have the longest legs in the whole of Guatemala... Lol
The journey was ok, Kari slept on my shoulder while i bopped away to some tunes (London Zoo) of course.....
She woke after about half an hour, just in time to see the veiw from the top of the mountain range which looked down onto the whole of the Lake (Lago De Atitlan), what a view it was too.
The view took in the whole of the lake and the surrounding little wee villages. Kari said she thought it was the best view of Guatemala she had seen yet.... I agree too. its some site to see.

After arriving at a little place called Panajachel which is sat at the foot of the lake... we Jumped onto a little boat so we could go across to the other side called San Pedro.... Its just one of many little villages dotted around the lake. But it was recommended by some friends we met back in Antigua, and was some where that Kari had in mind too. So here we are......

We find ourself a sweet hotel that has a 360 degree veiw of the lake and the surounding hills, and which has sheets on the beds. Some hotels apparently dont have such a thing.
After chilling on our little balcony for a bit we meet our first new friend that we name Pedro. we were lying on our bed with both the window and the door open, when in flew a little bird.... He went round the ceilling of the room afew times and then landed on the window sill..... He wound fly away by him self so i went up to shoooo him away but he ended up sat on my finger....
He was so cool.. he just sat there and let both of us stroke him and even give him a kiss.... We then popped him on the blcony edge to see if he would fly away, but he just sat there looking at the pair of us.... So kari went over to shooo him off but he ended up sat on karis finger. What a treat. we were both so happy about our little visiter we went out and told every one we met....

The next visiter we had was a crazy spider (the first of two weve seen since we got here). He was what looked like a scorpian spider.... I went up to it too squash it for Kari but it saw me coming every time i got near to it.... It would jump away each time it saw me... Scary thing it was... I eventually got him into the sink and washed it away...

The next spider we saw was sat on a wall... It looked like a octopus... Its body was stuck out and had its legs slayed out..... it was the madest thing ive ever seen.. Spider wise that is........

We spent the rest of the evening meeting fellow travellers around the area...

Yesterday we had a lazy day. We went for breakfast in the morning, which was above the lake and the dock. it was a great view as we could watch all the new travellers come in to the area....

Sunday came and we had a problem.... We couldnt find a cash machine that would except both mine andf Karis Meastro cards... This became a problem as we couldnt get money and we could not remember Karis pin number for her Master card.....
We tried to phone the bank in England but they wouldnt give Kari her number. even though she calmly explaned that we were in the middle of nowhere and we had no way of getting out money.... What a carry on that was. But Kari had a Brainwave and remembered it. This ment we didnt have to get a boat back to Panajachel to find a machine that excepted our cards... Good news..
Spent the rest of the day chilling on the rocks by the lake enjoying the sunshine.... Kari had a dip in the water I decided i rather just catch the sun instead... Although kari said i whimmped out. lol.....

Sunday evening came and we went for sunday lunch at a british pub... Kari was sooo sooo happy as she hadnt had a Sunday dinner for over six weeks....
