an early mini bus ride, which is full of people and bags down the aisles.  they didnt even have enough room for the other 4 that had paid and everything, takes us across mexico to our first border.

we have to pay a fee for entering the park? i am sure you could make money anywhere in mexico, just if you have a wod of tickets in your hand.  and then we go to the immigration booth to get our stamp.  my passport stamps:mexico to guatemala

   we heard you then had to pay more money but somehow we get by without.

we walk with our rucksacks, and then have to catch a boat across the waters into guatemala.its a narrow boat made of wood, with a wicker straw roof happy we cross our first border

 ... the river is fast...central america does appear to have health and safety rules... glad we didnt fall in!  such a novel way to travel, and matt and i are chuffed.  we have our first stamps, and are really travlling!
