Hi all

Hope you are all well!! We've been home in Ireland since July, getting used to life back in the real world after our travels! I'm now back in work and Rob has become a full-time student again!! Last weekend was our first foray out of the country since July, and we headed to Prague for my birthday!
The great thing about Prague is that, from Ireland, it's only a 2 hour flight, but it feels like a world away. It's a beautiful city, with amazing buildings, cobbled streets and lots and lots of things for tourists to spend money on! We did a lot of walking around the streets of the old town, but on our last day we gave into the ultimate tourist trap - the horse and carriage - and took a 20 minute trip. It looked lovely and relaxing but in reality, carriage, horses and cobblestones do not go well together. Lets just say we were glad of the nice thick  blankets on the seats! But it was great fun and a good way of seeing the city centre.
Apart from that we saw most of the sights including the castle, the astronomical clock, Charles Bridge and climbed a few towers to get good views of the city. One of the things Prague is most famous for is the beer and we definitely did our best to sample one or two over the weekend, along with hot wine - the Praguer's equivalent of mulled wine - definitely recommended for keeping the cold at bay!
The other thing about Prague is that it's big into music! There are loads of music clubs and tons of classical concerts on every night. One of the best things we did was going to a classical concert in an old church, it was amazing. We also found a little jazz club near the hotel which was great, even if the two of us made up half the audience!
So we're starting to plan our next trip already, unfortunately recession in Ireland is scaring everyone and we should probably be saving our pennies! So it might be a while but until our next travels, slán!!
