Today we spent the day at the San Diego Zoo, which was very impressive although some of the enclosures were really small, in particular some of the bear enclosures
. It's kinda sad really esp as we've seen how much space they have in the wild in Alaska and the northern states. The polar bears had lots of room though and we saw a really cute baby panda!
Tomorrow we're flying to Hawaii, to Honolulu for a few days and then onto the Big Island to see some volcanos! We've booked a surfing lesson and scuba diving when we're in Honolulu which should be fun. We're heading back to our hotel now to get packing for the plane tomorrow, we're used to having a car to throw all our stuff around so it's going to be a challenge trying to fit everything back into the rucksacks!
We've put up our photos of Las Vegas & the Grand Canyon also so check them out. Until next time, bye!!
Well we've reached our final day in Mainland USA! We've spent the last few days driving from the Grand Canyon to Yuma in southern Arizona and then onto San Diego. The temperature in Yuma was around 35 degrees C which is one of the hottest temps we've experienced so far. San Diego is a bit cooler, but still nice and sunny. We've spent the last couple of days in San Diego checking out some of the sights. Yesterday we went to see the USS Midway, which is an aircraft carrier that has been turned into a museum. We got to see inside of the boat as well as lots of planes parked up on the deck, it's so huge it's hard to believe you're still on a boat. We're staying in the Little Italy part of town, which is a cool neighbourhood with lots of Italian restaurants. We're still trying to figure out if the waiters really are Italian or not, they all have really strong accents but the only Italian they seem to know is "Buon Apetito" and "Grazie"...hmmm. Anyways the food is great so we're happy!
