It's fucking 3 in the fucking morning. It's really cold and I'm not a morning person, but I can't find it in me to complain. First, I promised I wouldn't do so and second it's a full moon.

Jenny wasn't feeling well and turned back, but the four of us (I have to admit I think of the four of us as the "real" group) are all enjoying this walk. How could you not? The full moon and the humidity are playing artists with the clouds, painting them with rainbows. The stars are a little shy in the strong moonlight, but they're still making act of presence. It seems like we couldn't have chosen a better day to try to see the sunrise from Mount Pananjakan (2770m), one of the mountains surrounding the Tengger Caldera I told you about.

Shaula, with her european-trekking-pace, was leading the way and I'm not blaming her, the trail really did disappear somewhere. We still managed to find a great spot with a view on both sides of the mountain. While we were waiting for the sunrise, of course, we were freezing and took advantage of the cold to huddle close and hug all the time.

The sunrise was epic, the fact that this walk was done during a full moon and at 3 am made it all seem like a dream. Can something that beautiful feel true, I wonder?

We left Probolinggo pretty early, got on a bus to Bali with the promise of getting there in time for the England game, which was broken about 2 hours later, when they made us change buses (to a local non-aircon one). Of course, we're still in Indonesia, we should've known, plus I'm known for my bad transport mojo.
