This morning started off amazing. Colleen woke us up with eggs, bacon and toast. The best part was the fact that the eggs were from the chickens.  Gotta love that free range chicken!  After energizing we headed out to the open range for a treasure hunt.  Thousands of years ago there were Indians that lived and dwelled around the town of Benton.  They left many of their artifacts around the town.  We went looking for these artifacts in the form of arrowheads.  We took about a 5 mile hike in the the back country of Benton and actually walked all the way to Nevada.  We actually found some pieces of arrowheads out in the ranch.  Along the way we also found a natural spring and quite a few bones.  It truly is survival of the fittest out there.  After a great treasure hunt we headed back to the house for some lunch and laundry.  We want to thank Colleen and Toby for being such great hosts.   We headed out to the wonderful town of Bakersfield, CA.  We did not plan as well as we should and didn't realize the eastern passes into Yosemite are closed till May.  Needless to say we have to drive around the entire Sierra Nevada mountains to get to the other side (Good thing all we got is time).  First stop Bakersfield, CA.  At first glance there is not much to see here, but we stopped at BJ's 5 Star Pizza.  Very skeptical looking outside, but quite surprising once we got our food.  We then headed off to the E-Z8 Motel, another piece just like the others......good talk see you out there.
