Hello everybody,
Sorry we have been out of commision for the past couple of days. We have been in the Serria Nevada Mountains! After we woke up we packed up and headed down from Mammoth Mountain and toured a little bit of the town. We were thinking about skiing for the day, but $135.00 for one day of skiing was a little outside of our budget. We then headed down to the town of Bishop, CA. We stopped for lunch at the Imperial Palace because I was craving some Orange Chicken. It was a nice suprise that it was good too. After lunch we were on a mission to find some hot springs. We stopped at the local forest station to see what was out there. He told us that there was a hot spring a couple miles down the road, but instead of paying for the pool part of the hot spring we could turn off before the resort and just find a natural spring on our own. That is exactly what we were looking for so that is what we did. It took some convincing to get Kara in, but eventually she gave in. It was such a cool, well warm, experience. From there we headed off to Benton, CA. There we were welcomed by Colleen and Toby. Colleen is my mom's cousin on her mom's side. It was a little suprising to roll up and be greeted by 3 dogs, 3 1/2 cats, 9 chickens, 3 horses and 1 sheep! My eyes got wide and Kara's got swollen. Actually Kara did very good with the different allergens. After getting settled in we got to feed the horses and hang out with Colleen and Toby. They made us a wonderful dinner and then we watched Dancing with the Stars. Then after watching the real stars (which were amazing) including a shooting star, we headed to bed because we had a big day of treasure hunting ahead of us!
