So we were off to San Clemente, CA where the fun meets the sun.  We arrived at about 11am and packed up the truck and headed to the beach.  By we I mean Shelley, Bane, Banning, Kara and I.  Now there are so many stories to tell you about me and Shelley as kids, but I will leave that up to Kellie and Mickey.  Lets just say that me and Shelley go way back....like we have been friends since she was born.  So with that said "we" headed down to the beach.  They decided not to take us to the normal beach that we go to in San Clemente, which is T Street, but instead this time they took us to Riviera Beach.  This was a great little spot with not a ton of tourist traffic.  As Shelley said it is the place where the locals go, but unfortunately you run into a bunch of people from high school.  We had a great day of fun in the sun and playing  with little Banning, so cute you just want to take him home with you.  We all had such fun building swimming pools right by the ocean and playing baseball.  After we got worn out we headed back to the house for a little BBQ.  One of Bane's good friends was celebrating his 28th birthday and they threw him a little get together.  It was a great night of meeting new people and grilling out in the California weather.  Micky got a second away from her frantic schedule and met up with us later in the evening.  We sat around the living room and told stories of old.  After all was said and done we hit the sack for a good nights sleep.  More to come tomorrow on our trip to La Jolla!

How cute is Banning??
Isn't Banning just the best? I love the pictures of the beach and especially all the pictures of little Banning. He looks and acts (sweet) SO much like Shelley when she was little. When we saw him a few weeks ago in San Diego, he ran into our arms like we see him every day... ADORABLE! When his new little brother is born, Banning will be such a nice big brother, I'm sure. Mickey and I have the best memories of times at the beach and camping with you and Shelley (and all your siblings) when you were young... and we always seem to make it back to the beach when we visit, don't we? NOW, I am officially NOT jealous, just so very happy that you and Kara are able to take this time in your life to breathe it ALL in and enjoy this country OFF the treadmill. I love you and miss you both, Mom

hope you get this quick note. again i will say i am so happy you came to visit. just finished talking with your mom. got caught up with all the happenings in VA.enjoy SLO and being with matt and brad.
