Our travels through the National Parks were over, and we were headed off to Chris' Aunt Isabel's house in Pahrump, Nevada. This is about an hour outside Las Vegas in the middle of the desert. No kidding, you drive out of vegas and its pitch black for about an hour, then the lights of little Pahrump show up in the distance. Being so close to vegas of course we had to drive through and do the strip from the car, which we have never done, its a lot easier than the walking tour. On the way to vegas though, we had a nice surprise and ended up on the road that drives over Hoover Dam...so we got to see that finally, didnt stop for the tour-thats gonna be another trip to Vegas. Anyways, down the strip we went...seeing Freemont street and then on to the real strip. I was a little annoyed to be driving through Vegas without any time to stop and play some Wheel of Fortune. Oh well, lets plan another trip for this fall. Then back in the desert for an hour and into Pahrump where Aunt Isabel had dinner waiting for us (home cooked food=soooooooo good). Theres a few pics from the drive in....Death Valley and Joshua Tree tomorrow. More to come soon. Miss ya, Kara and Chris
P.S. Did you know Sirius radio plays Low by Flo Rida approximately 25 times a day and Chris has to listen to it EVERY time????

Chris and Kara,
I am so glad that you were able to see Aunt Isabel. She called and left a message here, saying that she was very excited that you were coming to visit. I'm so happy that Kara got to meet her. I wish she could have met Uncle Jack before he passed away last year. Of course, I'll check in tomorrow... Love, Mom
