It's only a hop skip and a jump to Sante Fe, NM.  Here we just drove through the city and snapped off some photo's of historical landmarks.  First stop was the oldest chuch in the US of A.  Then it was off to get a picture with Arnold.  As some of you are probably asking yourselves, where has Arnold been this trip.  We are sorry for neglecting Arnold, but now it's his time to shine!  Now that we are getting into uncharted territory he will be showing up in more photo's.  After the quick driving tour of Sante Fe, we were headed north to Colorado. We had planned on stopping around Salida, but since it was only 3 hours to Glenwood Springs (where Chris' uncle Jerry lives) we just kept going. We stopped for dinner at the Twisted Cork Cafe in Salida, which had AMAZING food, and great blackberry wine from the vineyard next to the restaurant.  We finally arrived at Jerry's house around 11:30pm after a loooooooooong day in the car. (we decided that was the last time we drove at night) We are here in glenwood springs for a few days of seeing bits of Colorado and skiing tomorrow. We will let you know how that goes when we have time to get on the computer.....enjoy the pics.  Kara and Chris

i'm dizzy
I am dizzy keeping up with your travels. I'm exhausted just traveling school to school in Fairfax County Public Schools every day! Do you ever get tired? Skiing??? Tomorrow??? Oh CRAP! Can you do that while you sleep? Oh to be young, footloose and fancy free! Well, not 'free' really... but reasonably priced, since you have so many friends and family around the country to 'put you up for the night.' Keep on keepin' on... You're days away from the most fabulous state in the WORLD... Of course, that's Cali... AND it's only my opinion; for what it's worth... Have fun skiing and give my brother a big hug for me... Lorena too! If she makes you tamales, you're in for a BIG TREAT! If she doesn't; just move on to the next town!

The most Fabulous state in the World?
Who is Kellie kidding!?!?!

If you think you hear a car back firing - DUCK.... it really is a random gun shot heading your way.

And that racial tension.... makes the deep south look like 'It's a small world' at Disneyland where everyone gets along great.

Not to mention the air quality, traffic 24 hours a day and the cost of living/tax concerns.

But I honor Kel's opinion - - however out of touch it might be {grin}

There are a lot of sweet grapes in California too
Don't worry Chris and Kara... You're going to have a GREAT time in California. It's a good thing, too... Since you're spending most of your time there. Don't even focus on the negative California comments. YOU'LL HAVE A BLAST and you're going to get to see lots and lots of friends and family and beautiful scenery up and down the state! I hope you had fun skiing today. Love, Mom
