I'm not going to lie. Yesterday was a miserable day. Rainy, cold (66 degrees)...yucky. Good news is that it takes you away from the beach for a bit and into town.

Yesterday, we decided not to swim through caves but rather go and discover a free Cenote. This cenote was definetly another great find given to us from our friends, Christian and Joanna (dutch/germans). Free anything in the Riveria Maya is usually hard to do especially if the place is as spectactular as this cenote. It's the length of a two football fields and you can either kayak or snorkel through it. If you were diver there did seem to be a place it was emptying into the ocean. We decided because of the weather just to take a look and plan on doing it another day.

Next, we drove down back to Tulum and this time we drove through the hotel zone. Can you say? Lifestyles of the rich and the famous. These places were pretty spectactular right on this gorgeous beach with tons of pelicans flying by. Right next to the hotel zone is the beginning of the Sian ka'ann biosphere reserve. (looks really exciting but I'll save that for this kids when they're older.Definetly something every adult should checkout) We decided that because of the weather it was best not to eat in the hotel zone. So we went back to the town of Tulum and found on a side street 4 French bakerys and the next street over a Tapas restaraunt, "La Gloria de Don Pepe; Tapas y Paellas) Hello! Delicious! Order the lunch special when you are there you will not be let down. The owner is a hippish, laid back man from Spain and he takes a lot of pride in drink and food. It's a must. I'm starting to believe that Tulum is the city to visit for great food!

Looks like the weather is starting to get better. Julia's little buddy Kaya is leaving today but we wish her and her family a safe ride home.
