Tonight we are staying in a farm under the amazing Millau Bridge (or the Grand Viaduc du Milllau) "a thrilling and wondrous vision". H nips out every 10 minutes to take another photo in different light!!! We watched a program on its making on Discovery Channel before we left home and this was one of the main sights he wanted to see in France. It is 2.5km long and is supported by 7 enormous pillars.  It dominates all the surrounding countryside and the highest pillar is taller than the Eiffel Tower at 343metres. Right now I am sitting in the garden of our farmhouse having a glass of wine and looking at it.  What an amazing achievement! It has a guarantee of 120 years; I wonder what will happen after that!
We just had the best meal!  We bought prawns, ham salad, beetroot salad, egg salad and a crunchy baguette and ate it in the garden washed down with some local wine, and finished off with Roquefort cheese (which comes from near here) It doesn't get dark until about 10pm so we went for a walk afterwards towards the bridge across the fields....magic!!!!!
