Where I stayed
6 hours on a full bus...not very comfortable or exciting.
Arrived around 4pm at the bus depot...here i contemplated where i would stay. The job fair for Big White was in progress
till 8pm but this was only for people who had pre-booked an interview, of which I was not one. But i was going to go anyway
just in case there were free spots. So i decided to stay close. Well next door. The Samesun hostel was miles away.
Booked my accommodation paying premium price (3 times as you would at a hostel). But i got breakfast and free internet. Wait,
I got that at the HI Hostel in Vancouver :( Anyway, i rocked up to the Ramada Lodge where the interviews were taking place,
and low and behold there was room for interviews in Events Crew, Food and Beverage and Ticketing
casual interviews. The Food and Beverage one was interesting, this was a group interview. Crappo...you would get someone who
was the funny guy...someone who would talk the most and someone who had absolutely no idea. I was not either of those.
Having successfully got a few interviews under my belt, retreated back to the hotel for some R&R. Switched on my computer,
loaded up the Sport927 radio stream and waited for the running of the Caufield cup hoping Vouvray would win. But of course
I fell asleep missed the racing only to wake up at the end of the call to here Vouvray had run last ! What the #$$%!
Went to the job fair again the next day to see if i could get an interview for Guest Services area. Nup, all booked out bugger it. So i went
for an interview in Lifts and got another interview for Tuesday up on the mountain. So somehow i have to get up to the mountain.
From here moved to the Samesun hostel to stay for the night. And set off to see a bit of Kelowna. See, you need a bloody car!
everything is miles apart and the city is just so spread out. Man there is nothing to see or do in this town.
Walked along the massive Okanagan Lake and garden. Strolled the streets and saw not much.
Came across a Tourist Information centre and went to see what they could offer in terms of siteseeing and stuff. Nup nothing
vaguely interesting. Spent most of the time telling one of the girls all about Melbourne as she was going there to work.
Hope things are all well back home.
