We decided to go away for our 5th anniversary.
Stephen had told me that we were going to Normandy and
when we got to the airport where we would catch the
train to France, Stephen led me to the airline check
in area instead. So, we here we are in Venice
instead. What a fun surprise!

We had both been here before as backpackers. I loved
it and Stephen hated it -- too many shops and hanging
with a guy wasn't very romantic for him. But, this
time he loves being her with his two girls.

After a 2 hour boat wait and ride from the airport to
the lagoon, we walked from San Marco Square to the
hotel a few blocks away. Our room has a beautiful
view over a quiet canal which is frequented by
gondolas.

For the first daya dn a half we wandered aimlessly --
as Rivk Steve's says you can't get lost, you are on an
island.

Yesterday afternoon we toured a 18th C. mansion along
the Grand Canal.

Today we are going to the Jewish Museum and we will
walk around the former ghetto.

Tomorrow we will try and check out Moreno to see the
glass blowing.

Having Natalie with us at 4 1/2 months has not been a
problem at all when it comes to sight seeing during
the day. But at night, she is ready to sleep. Our
first night here we had a nice dinner on a nice court
yard. However, while I ate Stephen walked around the
courtyard with a screaming Natalie and then we
switched so Stephen could eat his gnocchi alone. We
learned from this so yesterday we had a very nice
lunch and brought pizza back to the hotel room for
dinner.

That's it from here. Have a good day. Go Badgers!
