This was a very early morning! We hitched a ride with Chanelle's uncle into town which did end up taking 20 minute...boo New Zealand transit. The first half of this day consisted of sitting on a bus until we arrived at Lake Tekapo. What a beautiful place! Just a small town but the lake itself was enough to make the stop worth it. Picking up our backpacks we hiked to where Viki's sister was working. Lucky for us her sister worked at a spa so we quickly got our bathing suits on and got into the hot pools. This was perfect. We sat in the hot pools and had the best view of the lake! Doesn't get much better. Unfortunately this was a short lived heaven as we had another bus to catch. After racing to get out and to make it to the bus it turned out that it was late :( Finally after its arrival we get on the bus only to learn after we started driving that in fact the 3 of us were on the wrong bus and we were heading back to Christchurch. AHHHHHH! I think it's safe to say that we would have all jumped off the bus while it was driving had the driver not turned around. So after our brief panic attack we found our right bus and settled right in. Upon making it to Queenstown we followed some travellers that were on the bus to a hostel. Thank goodness that we did! They picked the best hostel ever! In order for Kailey, Viki and myself to all be in the same room we had to pay 4 extra dollars to stay in a suit which had one other guy in it. The room was awesome...we had our own bathroom, a tv, a fridge and our room mate Luke was awsome! Once settled in we went for a bite to eat and then got ready and went out for a night on the town. Queenstown....LOVE IT! Best party ever! The bar that we started at is actually part of the hostel so the drinks were reasonable and we ended up meeting some people from Calgary, Ireland and some others. We thought that it was pretty funny and unimpressed at the same time that we travelled half way around the world to hang out with people from home. But no matter....cuz that was a night to remember!
