Where I stayed
We meet our tour party at the station and quickly discovered that the entire tour was in Mandarin with no English at all. At this point, Fred became our translator. Quite frankly, the scenery that we was saw over the next 6 hours didn't need much translation - it was simply magnificent. I finally understood why the Portuguese named Taiwan 'The beautiful island'.
The first stop on the tour was to the Seven Star Lagoon. It has rough seas and the sea bed drops sharply so that are not many water sport enthusiasts
The industry of Hualien is stone production specifically granite and marble. The river simply bring semi - precious stones to the riverbed for picking. The perfect production factory is the Taroko Gorge but since it was declared a national park, all stone manufacturing was ceased along with hydro-electric power generation. I am usually not at a loss for words but I am not going to even attempt to describe the natural beauty of the area. I can simply say that every corner I found a more beautiful landscape to capture. As one among us said: Taroko-gorgeous!!!!!
