Lutherstadt Wittenberg

so I decided to go south today. I woke up at 6am which was way too early for Saturday but the need to see new places was bigger;) Fortunately the train was leaving from Gesundbrunnen which is only 3 stops away from here so I didn´t need to take the bus to Hauptbahnhof, worrying that it will be late etc. The weather sucked from early morning, it was cold, grey, cloudy and sometimes it was raining. But I had to go, it was my only chance;)
My first stop was Wittenberg (or Lutherstadt Wittenberg as it´s called). I arrived there just before 8am and well, the first impression wasn´t the best, the area around the train station is dull with nothing really around. But with time it was getting better and better and by the time I got into the market place I was really amazed with the beauty of the city. And there were hardly any people around, which was even better. Unfortunately then it started raining really heavily, my feet got totally wet but I still had to find the famous Luther´s thesis on the door;) Fortunately they weren´t that far away so after that I accomplished my mission in Wittenberg and could go back to the train station and catch a train to Weimar:)
