There was no camping in Jasper so we stayed at a guest house for a couple of nights. It was just as well because the nights were cold. Quite a few of the tourist sights were closed due to higher elevations and roads not being accessible which was unfortunate. We also did not see a lot of wild life. We┤re guessing that in the fall most animals stay further up in the mountains and only venture down during the summer months.
We stayed in the village for 2 nights, walking around town and checking out the Jasper Park Lodge
Sections of the Parkway were covered in hard-packed snow, which made for some tense moments as we traveled over those parts of the route. We have been lucky with the weather and road conditions so far, which have been free of snow and ice.
We spent one night in Lake Louise, at a deserted campsite on the edge of town. It was not very cold, but there was snow on the ground where we camped.
