Antigonish was a stop on the way to the Cabot Trail, a short drive after our ferry landing in Nova Scotia. We weren´t planning to write anything on it but we found one of the best campsites - Whidden´s Park. It is located right downtown, walking distance to cafes and stores. It had full services, electricity, water and high speed wi-fi - woo hoo!

The facilities were clean, new and you could control the hot water temperature for the showers which was a bonus - all these little things now are a make and break on our choice of campgrounds. Although it was an RV park-type setting (not our ideal choice), we found a somewhat private campsite near a little brook and it was a very idyllic and restful stay. The staff at the park were summer students, and to show us prospective campsites one of them escorted us through the park on his scooter. I (Rajiv) parked the van on slant, which made for a challenging sleep. I won´t do that again!

We arrived at the campsite around 12:30pm on a Sunday afternoon. After settling in, we walked to a nearby cafe for lunch and then just walked downtown. It was a Sunday, so not a whole lot of stores were open but there were a couple of farmers out with fresh produce so we stocked up on vegetables.

It was one of those very pleasant afternoons, with a mild breeze blowing so when we got back to the campsite, we jut we sat by the brook, listening to the sounds of the water and got caught up with our postings.

We were also exposed to East Coast hospitality. Our campsite neighbours were from Pictou.  They brought over some fresh steamed beans for us, and after a 10 minute chat, knowing that we would be travelling back this way from Newfoundland in about 1.5 weeks, they invited us to their home, not only for a lobster dinner but an invitation to stay overnight at their place.

We were so relaxed that we didnt take any pictures! We might do so when we pass this way again on the way to Halifax in about 1.5 - 2 weeks.
