Phew! Today is our last full day in Houston and so we tried to fit in as much as possible. After our standard breakfast at IHOP (which I've started to look forward to each morning) we headed to a shopping centre called "The Galleria". It's a tourist attraction and we quickly figured out why.

The Galleria is filled with shops designed to mock anybody who hasn't appeared in a magazine more than 5 times. The shops stocked pens that cost more than my car, and watches that could feed me for a year. The height of it all was a store which most of you may know: Neiman Marcus. It was in this store that we saw $1,000 shoes, $6,500 jackets, $8,500 dresses and, the height of it all, a $16,000 minx jacket that Dad was lucky enough to touch. I felt particularly unnerved as Z picked his nose while he was surrounded by about $100,000 worth of shoes, I was just hoping he didn't wipe his booger on something that would cost us the price of our return ticket home!

Before departing The Galleria, Dad and I stopped off at the skating rink that was beautifully big and well maintained (there was a Cadillac logo sunken into the ice). We took a few videos which I'll attempt to upload, though I promise very little in terms of quality as we tried to maintain our balance and film at the same time, so there's lots of shaking! It was a great workout and lots of fun.

After we left The Galleria, we made a quick pitstop into Fry's Electronics, a retail outlet which I knew stocked Mana Potions, an energy drink in the bottle of a World of Warcraft mana bottle. They're not available in Australia and I wanted to stock up on a few and bring them back to Aus with me, if they'd let me. I managed to get 5 mana potions and 5 health potions at $2.99 US each, I'll have to cross my fingers when it comes to getting them through the border!

With Fry's Electronics behind us, we had lunch at Joe's Crab Shack, something we've been meaning to do for a while (and something Dad was looking forward to). I had a steak, Z had a hamburger and Dad had a King Crab which even tempted me to try (the same crab you see on The Deadliest Catch). Again, there are videos of this, and they'll come soon!

We had a few hours before dinner (which I won't cover, we went to the same place we went to the first night in Houston), so we went Go Karting at a place on Highway 6, about 20 minutes away from where we were staying. We didn't know what to expect, I used Yelp! to find the place. It turned out to be an indoor go kart place which used to be an old grocery store. The karts themselves were wickedly fast, not what I expected! Z couldn't race because of his age, and for safety sake, both Dad and I agreed. They were zooming, and the people we raced with were particularly skilled and competitive (we came 2nd last and 3rd last). Video to come!

Tomorrow we'll have to finish off the packing and check out, clean/fill up the car, say goodbye to Grandpa, head to the airport, all that jazz. We fly out around 5pm I believe, and we'll be going back in time by 2 hours, so to find our time just rotate your current Australian time forward by 5 hours.

Postscript: I had to mention that we stopped off at Gamestop before heading to The Galleria in the morning. While Dad and Z were standing at the counter, Mackenzie found it necessary to let rip a fart and desert Dad while the cashier shot him daggers for something we didn't do! Haha!
