It would be nearly impossible to explain exactly what this border crossing is like. When we first got here(South America), a girl in Quito warned us about this place. We scoffed at her. It couldn´t really be like that.... she was right. It was hell. The bus drops you off directly between both immigration offices. 3k to the ecuadorian stop. 3k to the Peruvian stop. Everyone inbetween is trying to fuck you or screw you or steal your money.

This story entails the black market money exchange, Peruvian mobsters, crazy taxi drivers, and the police. It is a tale that will not be told here.

Please know that we are safe. We are sound. And we are loving the beaches in Peru.

Caught our attention in South Portland
Please tell me your plans include a different border crossing on the way out? Beaches sound great. Wish I could see Kali eating raw octopus...... although I'm guessing she passed on that one. The writing is great. keep it coming.
