Day 6 was another beating. Left the DC area at 0930 am and headed to New England. Not sure where I would stay but I was determined to spend my first night in my renovated Aztek.

On the internet, I had checked out some campgrounds in the area that I thought would be a good place to settle for a few days. Something with kayaking, near the water, and some decent amenities. Its web site sounded real good. I got duped.

Eight hours later I arrived at the Whispering Pines campground in ? New Hampshire. It was a quiet area in the rolling hills about 25 miles south of Providence. It was not what I hoped for. Awefully desolate and the wifi that I was promised that would work, didn’t. I will always check my connection before I give up the $35.00 this place cost me. I could have slept on the side of the highway at a rest area for free. Oh well.

I was exhausted but decided to check out Rhode Island. I had a brief but intense romance with a girl visiting Orlando that was from Warwick about 16 years ago. She had told me some great stories about the Warwick area and I decided to check it out and get some fresh fish.

The wharf area that my I Phone 4 refered me to was having some sort of old car show and motorcycle festival. The restaurants and parking areas were packed. On a Tuesday night? Go figure. I searched all kinds of seafood places and everyone that Yelp and GPS recommended were out of business. Somehow I ended up in Providence at the trendy restaurant row.

I knew that Rhode Island was a predominantly Italian area and the abundance of Italian restaurants proved it. I wandered into a packed restaurant called Italianos and sat at a small 5 seat bar. Two very Italian girls were the bartenders. I told them about my blog and the fitness, adventure and nutrition theme. I wanted something light and with fish.

The older girl, who was about to leave, recommended the salad with grilled salmon and it was delicious. The employees were tired but friendly. Only one of them would give a small interview and she was a natural.

My workout consisted of a two mile run around the campground and a jump in their pool for several laps. I knocked out some push ups off the back of my car before I headed out.

I am in the back of my Aztek now tapping out this blog. Tomorrow I will head to the New England coast and find a place to settle for a few days. Possibly Portsmouth or Cape Cod.

This car is so comfortable right now. The temperature is in the 60’s and I can see the stars through big windows. The bugs are chirping. Good night.
