Road Trip from Byron Day 2
I woke up nice and early to check out the surf at Seal Rocks from the platform built in the dunes overlooking the sea. Not much was happening, not that it mattered because of my bum ankle. P and J sandwiches were consumed for breaky to charge us up for several hours of swimming and lieing on the quiet beach. The water is cooling down the further south we go. I spent my lungs worth swimming along the bottom as far as I could in the blue green clear water. A bit of body surfing in the shore break encrusted salt and sand in my hair for a steady shower of debris from my head while driving further down the coast to Newcastle. On the way out of the park we stopped to check out the old lighthouse and the tallest tree in New South Whales at 76.3 m or 251 feet and well over 400 years old. The 300 began to overheat when we pulled into Newcastle at the end of our drive. She blew the top radiator hose out. Not too much of a problem though. The part should be easy to replace even with my novice mechanical abilities and trusty Swiss Army Knife. We spent spent the evening catching up with my Jerad Campbell. He is the same ol' good ol' boy with jokes to be had for all. One great one goes like this. " How many feminists does it take to change a light bulb? Two. One to change the light bulb and the other to...(due to the wide audience that reads this I am unable to finish the joke, it is a good one though.)" I also got in contact with John Dustow, another great friend from the Australia days of yore. He is a very busy man with a tight schedule, but he drove downtown to quickly catch up and invite us out for dinner the next night for a delicious meal prepared by his lovely young wifey.
