I grew tired around sunset and decided to spend the night at Seals Rock. Thanks to Andy Ellis' generousity I had a tent and sleeping bag. After locating a spot in the dark I made camp. I saw a good sized dingo snooping around in the dark and a massive fruit bat flapping around in the moonlit sky. The bush of Australia is full of wildlife. I was thinking about eating it because I had forgotten to get food or water. I was starving and thirsty. The ground was hard. It started pouring rain. I tried sleeping, but my elbows were aching for some reason. I ended up dozing twenty minutes and decided to break camp at 4 am. Back on the road in the dark I continued my trip up to Byron Bay.
After consuming 8 apples, three bananas, and two kiwi fruits I arrived to Byron Bay and met up with another college mate, Levi Tsanov. Levi is a professional surf photographer. He is endless energy and laughter. He opened up his flat to me for a week or so. Its a surf rich area which means my main focus is to surf richly. My first surf was at Lennox Head which is right point. the water was warm. There were some squalls blowing in, but I still enjoyed surfing in the rain. Something about being surrounded about water makes me feel more comfortable than usual. Maybe it takes my subconcious back to the time in the womb. I not saying it was raining in the womb, but being enveloped in liquid just feels right. You know?Maybe not for everybody, but definately for me. After my womb time I finished my surf and exited the rocky shore adding two more dings to the board and ready to begin my stint in Byron Bay.
Levi took me to his local church the next day which was a first in a long time for me. The sermon began with "I knew I had to be a pastor because the end of the world is near"... I was excited to be back at church... there was a potluck to fill my belly with delicious mystery caseroles and pastas before Armegedon. The potluck was an end to a week long fast of fruits, water, and a detox supplement. (Being on the road my diet usually consists of noodles and burgers, so I was feeling in the mood for a good flushing.) I ended up filling my plate several times. While stuffing my mouth, I was telling a few curious girls about the Amazon. I loved the food. I loved eating. I loved talking about the Amazon.
Levi and I hung out after church for a bit and then went up in the surrounding hills for a hike. We checked out some impressive water falls of over 300 feet. We then decided to hike deeper into the bush where we found a few massive lace monitors, and I soon after recieved a lashing by its tail. I was unable to catch the lizard, but I was feeling rusty. Next time I will succeed. Levi and I shared a few laughable stories to catch up on the last 7.5 years as we hiked and looked for birds. It began to rain so we headed back through More thumbnails ...

Sick wave at main beach. Your surfing waves like that? It must be hurting your wallet to stay out there. I heard the aussie currency is strong right now.
