Macieo is a pretty little coastal city. Lots of parks scattered around the city that have similar looking benches and trees surrounded by similar looking streets and buildings. Needless to say I spent much of my time wandering around the city trying to find my dingy little hotel. Being lost is annoying, yet being lost and having diarrhea adds to the frustration. Since my hotel was the smallest and cheapest one in the city many taxi drivers didnīt know where it was. They would gesture that they knew where it was, but would only end up dropping me off at on of the parks that I thought would be close. Off  I would go squeezing my cheeks trotting my way around the city from one similar looking park to the next similar looking park.
Lonely Planet claims Praia de Gunga is the most beautiful beach in South America. I hired a taxi to find out for myself. It has two beaches. One beach faces the Atlantic while the other beach swings around to the river flowing into the ocean. The water was greenish. Not the most beautiful beach I have seen but still nice. Maybe the contributing author went to Gunga on a better day. The taxi driver was creepy at times, and my stomach was bubbling violently at times, but for the most part it was a good day.
Restless and wanting to move onto Rio. I flew off the next day.
