Bocas del Torro is in an archiopelago on the Caribbean side of Panama. Christopher Columbus thought it was so beautiful here that he named two of the islands after himself. If I was here before him I would have done the same. The waters are warm and clear. The people are lovely. The views are amazing. The pace is slow. I am staying at this genious of a place called Aqua Lounge. Its built on a dock over inviting waters. You can walk out of your dorm room take five steps and fall into the Caribbean. There is a diving board built on top of a bar. You can launch yourself off of it and then just float around for hours with the plethera of fish. Not bad for ten bucks a night. The place is perfect. I love it. There is a fiesta coming to town and I am waiting around for it. What a horrible place to kill a couple of days at.You have to take a water taxi for fifty cents to get to the main town of Bocas across the channel. There are lots of beaches to explore and surf. It only requires you waving down a water taxi from the dock just outside your room. Make sure you watch your step into the boat. I didn´t and ended up in the drink fully clothed much to the amusement of my fellow travelers.
Your trip looks fantastic! As we settle into the second week of school, the students showing their true selves...I will think of you at the Aqua Lounge!!!
