Templed Out in Cambodia
Entry 1 of 1 | show all | print this entry |
Top 5 Discoveries in (Siem Reap) Cambodia
5. Cambodians are pleasant, mild-mannered people. They have a singsong accent and are surprisingly nice even when you bargain unreasonably. (They also commonly have single-syllable names.)
4. Siem Reap is like a big park. Riding an open tuktuk all day is refreshing. No pollution, baby!
3. Food is spicy but enjoyable. The place may not be well-maintained (read: not clean), but the dishes are usually well-presented.
2. There's a faster rate of degradation than restoration for historical sites. If you wish to see the place, visit now. And support sustainable tourism.
1. There's such a thing as templed out. In Siem Reap, two days won't be enough to check all its temple. So we entertain the idea of coming back.=)
Photos to follow. =)
p.s. Guess who cried at Angkor Wat over a damaged kit lens after accidentally dropping the camera...
p.p.s. Happy now after 2 days of using 50mm lens.
