Hi everybody!!!!
Turns out my flight to Nairobi is a little more of the scenic route than i had anticipated. Sydney > Melbourne > Mauritius so far. Mauritius i knew about - melbourne was a total wild card. Got a whole centre row of 4 seats from Melbourne to Mauritius and slept most of the way. Arrived in Mauritius as the sun was setting on tuesday arvo. Rescued a young first time traveller who couldn't make it through Mauritian Immigration on his own, then decided to split a hotel room as he didn't really know what to do about accommodation either!

A tropical storm was brewing as we drove to our hotel, sugar cane and palm trees were thrashing about wildly, the sky was black. Shortly after we arrived at the hotel the heavens opened. Our room had a little balcony, and even a small TV, unfortunately it was all in french. Their ads were really strange too, they were just like a photo of a billboard displayed on the tv for 15 secs, no actors, no talking, no nothing.
