When we set off again it was actually quite chilly in the back of the truck because of a cool breeze and the higher altitude. We soon had jumpers and fleeces on. I was listening to the Prodigy tape which I like a lot. It's high in the turkish pop charts, but the Spice Girls are number one unfortunately.
There was a lot of winnowing going on in the fields we passed and many people were making tea - real tea in teapots, not teabags in mugs
As we continued we hit countryside which was a bit wilder and less cultivated. Once we hit pine forests it became warmer too, although it was still windy.
Arrived in Fethiye late morning for the cook group to shop. I had been here on two previous trips. Had lunch in one of the harbourside cafes. Brits everywhere. Apparently there's a large ex-pat population here. After lunch Teresa and I remained in Fethiye while the truck took the others on to Oludeniz, our base for the next few days. Had a quick look around, but it was too hot to do much. Found somewhere to get some photos processed, bought some fruit in the market and then caught a dolmus to Oludeniz. Noticed a lot more tourist-based development between the two places than when I was last here. Oludeniz itself has extended back into the valley and the front has been pedestrianised. It's more commercialised, but tastefully done.
Once again I find myself staying at the accommodation behind the Buzz Bar
Finished the day with a few drinks in the Buzz Bar and a walk on the beach. Will be strange sleeping in a bed again.
