Took the train overnight.  The beds were hard but quite spacious, relatively speaking.
Woke up in the morning in Xi'an.  Did a little bit of a walkaround to orientate ourselves in the city.  Then I went ofr lunch a McDonald. I know, I know, but i had to go at least once per country.  It was overall disappointing with very few localised items.  That is what I go to see/taste. Oh well.

Then we went to see the Terracotta warriors.  The scale is just immense. One of the 3 pits is the size of an aircraft hangar. And they haven't even uncovered half of it, and barely none of hte 2nd pit. And the 3rd pit is hte smallest, with just a few items.  Crazy!

In the evening we walked around the bustling Muslim quarter. It was fascinating with food vendors and trinket sales people everywhere! and the scooters and tricycles.  It is a hive of activity.

W have a free day in Xi'an tomorrow (Friday) and I'm going to go to the park, and Calligraphy street where they sell a lot of brushes, ink and paper for Chinese calligraphy painting and maybe check out a couple more places.
