Yesterday we headed up to the Aviemore in the Scottish Highlands. Stopped off at St Andrews to see the famous golf course-didn't get to see much as it pelted down with rain! So just shivered in the rain watching all the people attempting to play golf in the rain and wind-hehe. They book years in advance for a slot so don't want to give it up. First rain I have experienced this trip. Hasn't spoilt it though as just seems to make the Highlands look more beautiful. We were meant to have a highland farm visit but was too wet so we went to Blair Castle instead. Very interesting place so not too disappointed. And nice and dry! We are staying at some ski resort in the Highlands. Bit isolated. But is OK.

Early start today as off to the Isle of Skye! Very excited as always wanted to visit. Stopped off at Lochness on the way. Afraid to so I didn't catch a sight of Nessie. But got lots of pics. :)

Next stop was a photo stop at Urquhart Castle ruins. Very pretty-then on the Eilean Donan Castle ruins. Also very pretty. Pity couldn't check them out more. On to the Isle of Skye! Very beautiful rugged countryside. Stopped for lunch at first town over the bridge (yes they now have a bridge-no ferry ride anymore) called Kyleakin. Very pretty - great soaking up the views. Then we were driven up to Broadford and back down again. Bummer that we did so much driving and not much stopping and looking. The drive here was very beautiful. The Scottish countryside is amazing especially with all the heather.

I am already getting mothered-missed breakfast as wasn't feeling that great and a lot of the older woman insisted the Tour Guide ring me to make sure I am OK. hehe. Very sweet. And the guys hassle me heaps. One is trying to set me up with his single son who is my age and I get teased endlessly. But they are all very sweet and fatherly. I get well looked after! :)

Isle of Skye
Wekeep telling tourists we are a long way away, youd be amazed at how many people think they can see the whole of Scotland in a day :D All that way and you barely seen what Skye had to offer (Skye not Sky).

Come for longer next time, you'll love it!

Re: Isle of Skye
I did actually spend longer than a day in Scotland-was more like a week lol. Just wish the tour had actually let us get off the bus in Skye. Oops did spell that wrong in the text but did get it right in the heading-my excuse is a stinky keyboard on computer lol. Anyway have amended it now. And yes am definitely coming back-and for longer!
