Once off the ferry we drove into Athens and went up to the Acropolis and Parthenon. It was amazing. Pity there was so much scaffolding-but everything seems to be covered in scaffolding in Europe (well all the sites anyway). Was an easy walk up but very slippery. Think I liked the ruins at Turkey and Pompeii better though.

Got to see Olympic Park where the first modern Olympics were held in Athens.

Then had a 3 hour drive to the port to catch the overnight ferry to Italy. This time we had a highspeed ferry and was way nicer than the last ferry and even the cruise ship. They even gave us fruit in our rooms!! (Have been feeling very fruit-deprived lately so was easily impressed). They even had cheap internet connection......no excuse not to do my blog!
