Quick hello for today.
I had my first classes today. I tried to walk to class this morning and realized that it is much further than just a 30-40 minute walk. Thankfully I was only late to get my results from my exam and I wasn't actually late for that (you can get your results any time you want). I got placed into the Advanced level which is the highest out of anyone on the program.
My professor is amazing. She is very nice and very reasonable. I feel like I will learn a lot with her. Also, we speak French the entire time that we are in class because not everyone is American/British so even if we wanted to we couldn't communicate in English!
Later on I went on a walking tour of the Marais which is basically my neighborhood. It is a wonderful place with lots of hidden courtyards, shops, and cafes of course. I then returned to the latin quarter for a lecture on the Eiffel Tower. The lecture was good except the lecture hall was so hot and I had been walking around all day. It was really hard to stay awake eventhough I was really interested. We have lectures every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday which are optional and cover varied topics. I plan on going to at least one each day. They are a great source of information and French practice!
Tomorrow I have my first phonetics class, a tour of the Louvre, and errands for school supplies.

Congratulations!
You are getting the practice you wanted! Isn't it reassuring that you get high marks when you test? It certainly uplifts you and encourages you to continue with hard work.

Yippee!
Wow, I'm impressed that you tested into the advanced group. All your work has paid off. I'm glad the professor is good. Sounds like everything is working out just as planned!
Love,
Mom
Re: Congratulations!
I'm really glad to get into a challenging class. The classes are so much more structured here than in St. P so hopefully I will learn a lot!
