Up for an early last breakfast at the Ashram and then it was time to say some very sad goodbye's. I am sure I have said this before, but one of the worst things about travelling is the farewells.  But it is a part of what life as a globe wanderer is all about so you just grit your teeth, hold back the welling up tears and give big hugs to those who have touched your heart in some way.  The Ashram is such a special place with the most genuine, caring, amazing people and I will never forget my time with them.

So waving goodbye to the fast disappearing shore’s of Bali, Alex, Nicolette and myself headed off to Nusa Penida, an island off the east shore of Bali.  We shared a boat with another couple who we dropped off at a neighboring island.  Then we pulled ashore on Nusa Penida.  Of course as soon as our little feet hit the shore we were surrounded by offers to take us to our accommodation.  After discussing and agreeing on a price with a bemo driver we drove off to our accommodation.  On arrival we paid our driver the 20 000IRP’s agreed upon and then the fun started.  Our driver then tried to scam us and without going into all the details he basically tried to get 200 000IRP’s out of us!  So after a very heated agreement we called one of the guys from FNPF (Friends of Nature and Parks – where we were to stay) to come and help.  Eventually the guy left with 50 000IRP’s but was not happy because he had lost face.  Oh well!

After a well needed shower we headed out to find some food!  Hungry!  LOL  We found a local warung and had a delicious meal and then walked home in the dark.  The roads on Nusa Penida are not lit at night and motorbikes speed past.  The walk home was, to put it lightly, terrifying because we knew the bikes only really saw us at the last moment when we came into their light view.  So by the time we got back we all just passed out!  Goodnight!
