We rented a room in Jersey City for 2 nights, that way we could have a place out of the Big Apple. The first night we just slept, and slept for a long portion of the morning too. We tried to look at transit into the city but it was very confusing and Marc convinced me it would be just as much trouble to drive in and find a place to park.

We drove into the big city, it took just over an hour to find a parking lot, and we found out that they were charging 55$ a day for parking. Marc was convinced we could find better, so after a bit of work, some honking horns and some yelling we were on the hunt for another parking spot.

After driving through Times Square and all the way through Central Park, we finally find what appears to be a legit parking spot. Within minutes of hiding valuables, putting up the window shades and locking up the car we witnessed to crazy looking gangsta guys get in a fight. There was a lot of pushing, some shuffling and some swearing. I tried to make myself invisible against the wall, and Marc and I watch in horror as one guy walks away and the other guy WHIPS a bottle at his back. After a bit of discussion on leaving the car there, we programmed the co-ordinates into the gps and found out we were in East Harlem. So, we start walking with the destination of Nintendo World, which was located at 30 Rockefeller Pl.

The gps weaved us up and down streets for almost 4 hours. We took one sitting break where I took some pictures of birds.  New York changes so drastically from one block to another, and one of the most interesting things we saw were people playing tennis with their hands. They were slapping the ball so hard, it stung to watch it. Finally, around 8pm we were exhausted, but walking into Nintendo World and the look in Marc's eyes was worth the walk. Nintendo World was awesome, two floors of awesomeness even. There was Pokemon corner, covered in little figures/plushes/tshirts/stuff, and upstairs was more Nintendo-ish. After a few minutes of walking around a voice came over the PA announcing that the store was going to be closing in approximately 10 minutes. We rushed around to see all the displays, and I found a Pikman shirt and he surprised me with a little pikachu stuffed animal <3

We left the store as it closed, and wandered over to look at Lego World, and up to 30 ROCK to take some pictures and checked it out. We notice it's getting pretty dark out, the sun is going down fast and I have a moment of brief panic about where we parked the car and walking back to that area and Marc assures me we can get to it by Subway, if not significantly cut off time from our journey by taking it into East Harlem. So, we venture underground and after speaking to the guy that sold the Subway Passes and looking at various maps we decipher that we can do this. We go through the turnstile and go down a flight of stairs, onto the Subway. It was warm and uncomfortable and I felt extremely out of place, I was very excited to get off the Subway and up into the open air.

When we finally got up to the sidewalk, we went over against a wall and tried to map ourselves back to the car. That's when I noticed that the internal screen of the gps is busted and cracked. Marc, with his many years experience in cracked touch screens deduces that it may have twisted when we went through the turn style and that is why the outer screen wasn't cracked as well. We couldn't even get it to tell us where the car was. So, we sat down and thought it out. I freaked out and tried to use it a few times, but it was hopeless... all I could remember is that we parked on Malcolm X and I remember at one point seeing 116th. What could we do with this information? We hopped in a cab and told him what was up, and he helped us sniff out the region, we exited the cab and walked about for 30-45 minutes. We managed to sniff out the car with little confrontation. There were people every where, sitting on porches, listening to music and smoking. We found the car decorated with a parking ticket, although we took pictures to fight the charges. The sign was not visible at all from the street.

We got in the car and attempted our way out of the city. We drove through times square at night, and headed outwards. We were now stumped on how to get back to the hotel, seeing as how the gps with the address was now cracked and unusable.

I've been writing for too long, but long story short we ended up at a gym called planet fitness on Staten Island, paid 8 dollars to get on the stupid bridge, but it worked out so well - we went into the gym and asked them to print out the directions to Motel 6 Piscataway, NJ.

We collapsed in bed when we finally got home.
