We and our friends went into town. We checked into the Marriott Hotel in the town center and the proceeded to walk around the area to see Copenhagen.
Tivoli Gardens wasa just down the street from the hotel. We walked through it but were not impressed by it.
That afternoon, we took the train to see Kronborg Castle in Helsingør which is about an hour's ride by train. This castle was used by Shakespeare as Elsinore in Hamlet. We walked along the coast up to the castle.

It is located on a bit of land on the closest point to Sweden in the sound.

We took a guided tour and the guide was obviously not a big fan of Swedes. He explained that they had occupied the castle and stripped many of the valuable artifacts that were there. The castle was massive with beutiful rooms but some were largely barren

, I guess due to the thieving Swedes. The casements were extensive and most have been considered crappy duty by the soldiers that had to man them (there were dark and dank)

. The treasury was well worth the visit. Many historic gold and jewel-encrusted items were on display including crowns and the pictured chalice with the skull and crossbones on the shank.

The next morning, we got up early and went to the airport to pick up our rental car for the rest of our vacation where we visited Sweden and Norway.
